Listen to the Australian Art Music playlist: August 2022

Cameron Lam explores old favourites and new tracks in this month's Australian Art Music playlist.

Welcome to the Australian Art Music playlist! A monthly playlist of classical, jazz, experimental and electronic music focused on contemporary Australian composers, musicians and sound artists.

Over three-and-a-half years, we have featured 1,000 different pieces of music on the Australian Art Music playlist. We’ve heard from over 500 different composers, sound artists and improvisers, and a wealth of amazing performers, both local and from abroad, who are championing their music. It speaks to the depth of artistic expression on display that this sample only scratches the surface. I hope you’re all enjoying exploring right alongside me.

This month we have recent and new releases to explore, with a whole bunch of new names featuring alongside our old favourites. Let us know what you enjoy! Don’t forget that while streaming is a great way to discover new music, attending gigs or purchasing albums and merchandise is an even better way to support the artists you love.
