‘the distance between’ (2022) for mixed quartet (flute/alto flute, alto sax, cello & vibes) 🧊☀️🌊🏔

Written for 4/6 performers drawn out of a hat from the incomparable Corvus Ensemble: @coxter @alexmlore @charlyakert @joebergenmusic 📸🎥➡️ and dedicated to Katy Abbott who continually inspires me in learning and in life.

Insight: “The distance between the beginning and end of a hike in the Denali National Park and Preserve meshes into a sublime yet hazy memory, as it is almost as if we cant truly comprehend what we witnessed.”

Composed in 3 days at Twin Bears Campsite after 5 days of hiking Denali National Park as part of #composinginthewilderness2022 ran by Stehpen Lias + Alaska Geographic + featured in the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival 🤍 mega congrats also to my all new fellow composer friends and their stunning works too.

This opportunity and last two weeks were life changing to say the least and thank you so so much to all who have supported my journey and career so far ♥️ this work is so ‘me’ and I’m proud of that 💫 multiple recordings and videos are coming very soon.
