Collide @ Astolat for 3MBS Music in Melbourne Patron Event, performing ‘PHOENIX’

A beautiful occurrence and opportunity to have my work ‘Phoenix’ (2019) for alto sax, cello and piano to be performed by its OG commissioning ensemble Collide (Joseph Lallo, Yelian He and Yasmin Rowe) to perform the work again 2 years after its world premiere, at the beautiful Astolat Estate in Camberwell.

This was a private, preceding event tot he 2024 3MBS Marathon, where Phoenix was also performed by Collide in ‘Universal’ on the 24th Feb at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

It was so special to speak about the work and my relationship with 3MBS to their beautiful patrons, and also have my music performed in such a gorgeous, unique space such as an estate’s terrace playing into the gardens. Very appreciative of Collide and 3MBS for breathing new life into this work in such a unique and capturing setting, on a lovely balmy night in Melbourne/Naarm.
