The Performers:

After completing her Bachelor of Music at WAAPA, Amelia Jones undertook further studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with particular specialization in Baroque performance practice. Amelia is the Principal Soprano at Scots' Church, and is regularly engaged as a solo concert artist, a chamber singer and chorister across multiple musical genres. Alongside live performance, Amelia has gained praise and recognition internationally for her work as a recording artist for award winning video games and Japanese anime productions, most recently the Netflix original Eden. Her 2019 performance in UnderSCORE, the first symphonic concert to feature video game music by Australian composers, established her place as a ‘strong vocal presence in Australian video game music’ (ABC Classic). Amelia recently performed solo at The Melbourne Recital Centre with a program championing modern Australian Art Song, repertoire close to her heart.

Sumiko Yamamura is a freelance accompanist born in Japan. She completed Bachelor of Music in performance with Elizabeth Powell, and a Graduate Diploma in piano accompaniment with David Miller at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She is an active ensemble pianist. She has worked with many musicians, both instrumentalists and singers including recitals with former SSO Principal Bassoon John Cran (with ABC-FM), Orana Trio (ABC-FM), Kammer Trio, Sirius Ensemble, TSO Principal Trombone Jonathon Ramsay (Fine Music FM recitals with Young Performers Awards) and many others.
