Divisi Chamber Singers celebrate their ground-breaking Compose Queer album with major new works by Australia’s finest young LGBTIQ+ composers

After a hugely successful launch of their commissioning project for young LGBTIQA+ composers in 2021 – Compose Queer – the young Divisi Chamber Singers have attracted glowing reviews and have been awarded major prizes from the ABC and Creative Victoria. The commissioned music is ground-breaking, and highlights some of the best young LGBTIQA+ Australian composers. This has resulted in their debut album, Spectrum, titled after Sally Whitwell's featured song cycle, as a testament to the diverse spectrum of local LGBTIQA+ talent involved in the creation and performance of this new music. Celebrate the launch of their debut album, of this vibrant Compose Queer music, coming from diverse corners of our wonderful LGBTIQA+ community. With works by Sally Whitwell, Robert McIntyre, Meta Cohen, Ariel Bonnell and Caerwen Martin. Plus, the premiere of Meta Cohen's ABC Composer Commission Grant work, written specifically for the Divisi Chamber Singers and the ABC. 
60 minutes in duration with no intermission. Doors and bar open 30 minutes before start of the show.
